Several protected/priority habitats exist in Northern Ireland and are a material consideration in the planning process. To ensure compliance with the law and relevant planning policy, habitat surveys may be required prior to the commencement of development projects to ensure these are not adversely impacted, particularly for upland windfarm developments.
We can provide habitat surveys to NIEA specifications for a variety of purposes and using a range of methods including more basic Phase 1 mapping up to more detailed NVC techniques. Our team have particular expertise in both undertaking and assessing the suitability of habitat surveys for wind farm developments and other large scale projects.
